Stevenage made it three wins in three with a 2-1 success at home to Stockport.

They took the lead a little bit out of nothing after 22 minutes.

The ball forward had been flicked on by Jamie Reid and it allowed Dan Kemp to race in alone.

A couple of touches and he slid it inside the near post of Ben Hinchliffe.

However, the lead lasted just four minutes as a wickedly dipping effort from Callum Camps bounced just in front of Murphy Cooper, taking it beyond the keeper and in.

Stockport had been the better side in the first half, almost taking the lead after two minutes but Ethan Pye’s header was saved by Cooper.

However, they were behind again 10 minutes after the break.

Jordan Roberts got in behind the defence and even though he was running away from goal, his heels were clipped by Ibou Touray and the penalty awarded.

Reid made no mistake from the spot, blasting it to the left of Hinchliffe who went the other way.

The only chance late on came to Boro, Nathan Thompson heading wide when meeting a Harvey White free-kick.
