Leaders Wycombe made it 16 consecutive League One games without defeat after playing out a tense 1-1 draw at home to Reading.

The visitors started better as former Wanderers man Lewis Wing tried his luck from range on two occasions but to no avail.

Sam Smith, Charlie Savage and another former Wycombe player, Chem Campbell, also had half-chances, but there was nothing to test goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli.

Instead Wycombe took the lead against the run of play after 18 minutes.

Moments after Aaron Morley had fired over from distance, Jack Grimmer’s low, fizzing cross was converted by Beryly Lubala.

It was a well-taken finish from the 26-year-old as he struck for the second time in three games.

But the lead only lasted 12 minutes.

A mistake at the back from Joe Low allowed Sam Smith through and, although he was denied by Ravizzoli who was off his line, Harvey Knibbs was on hand to tap home from close range.

The second period was a cagey affair, with the wind and rain playing havoc.

Wing went close for Reading with a free-kick, while at the other end Tyreeq Bakinson was inches wide and Garath McCleary saw his attempt get tipped over by Joel Pereira.
