A first-half brace from Alassana Jatta and a customary goal from David McGoldrick ensured Notts County returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Bradford.

The first opportunity of the game fell to Jatta. Nick Tsaroulla was set free down the left-hand side and his floated cross was met by the head of the Gambian forward but his effort was turned behind for a corner.

Jatta was not to be denied 10 minutes later as Dan Crowley’s trickery and low ball into the box found the Magpies’ talisman at the back post for a tap-in.

County extended their lead three minutes later courtesy of McGoldrick. Jatta turned provider as McGoldrick blasted the ball beyond Sam Walker.

Jatta had his second a minute later. The forward was slipped through by McGoldrick and tucked the ball beyond the keeper.

The second half began in similar fashion with Jatta being denied a hat-trick courtesy of a superb stop from Walker.

McGoldrick then raced in and looked destined to grab a second of his own, but he was denied by the outstretched palm of Walker.

Bradford hit back with a chance of their own as Calum Kavanagh let fly from range but his effort was saved smartly by Alex Bass.
