Jacob MacIntyre scored twice to help Kelty Hearts cut the gap to Arbroath at the top of William Hill League 1 with a 3-2 victory.

Gavin Reilly put Arbroath in front three minutes before the break but MacIntyre equalised on the stroke of half-time before putting his side in front eight minutes after the interval.

Innes Murray equalised for the visitors but Scott Williamson landed the last dagger for Kelty Hearts to hand Arbroath a first league defeat since October.

Dylan Gavin netted a hat-trick as Elgin held off a Clyde fightback to earn a 4-2 win to go top of League 2.

Gavin opened the scoring in the 11th minute before he grabbed his second in the 37th minute either side of Dajon Golding’s strike to give City a three-goal lead at the break.

But Clyde worked their way back into it and cut the deficit to just one thanks to goals from Martin Rennie and Robbie Leitch before Gavin sealed the points with a fantastic free-kick in off a post.

Ten-man Peterhead slipped to second after they drew 1-1 with rock-bottom Forfar.

Peterhead opened the scoring on stroke of half-time through Kieran Shanks’ stunning half-volley but were down to 10 men in the aftermath of the goal as Andy McCarthy saw red in the celebrations.

Forfar secured an important point through Nathan Cannon in the 79th minute to stretch their unbeaten run to three in all competitions.
